TDT is a volunteer-run three year program for Singapore American School middle school students, which provides education about socializing, dining, and dancing in formal situations.  Lessons include how to introduce someone in a formal setting, shake hands with confidence, and treat a dance partner cordially as well as dance and dining etiquette for a variety of cultures.

Our Mission

TDT teaches young people to treat others with honor, dignity, and respect for better relationships with their family, friends, and business associates later in life as well as provide instruction and practice in ballroom dance.

“Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use.” - Emily Post

Whether through face-to-face or through a device, kids today need these necessary soft skills to put their best foot forward. Schools and jobs are increasingly competitive but high GPAs and packed resumes no longer cut it. From colleges to the business world, there is a increased emphasis on emotional IQ and social aptitude. That’s where we come in. TDT is an opportunity for students to start learning and practicing now the interpersonal skills that will help them in their future.

The skills and social protocols taught in our program provide the foundation needed for students to learn how to navigate difficult social experiences, tools for getting through a variety of social situations, and develop good character now so they’re prepared for the future.Through practicing etiquette and social dances, young people gain confidence in themselves and grow in their ability to treat others with respect and compassion.

This program gives the kids confidence, and helps them learn what to expect, and how to behave, in formal situations.
